Australia has been cleared of allegations it deliberately lost a game at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in September.

The Aussies were suspected of having thrown a 91-83 decision to Angola that allowed them to avoid playing the United States in the semifinals.

But secretary general Patrick Baumann said Wednesday that FIBA's internal investigation ended without any evidence of wrongdoing, according to The Associated Press.

Australia didn't make it far in the tournament anyway - the Boomers were eliminated in the second round by Turkey.
