Lee could return on Warriors' road trip

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is starting to a sound a little optimistic regarding David Lee's health status.

Kerr said Lee could potentially return to the Warriors' lineup by the end of their current five-game road trip. The Warriors have weekend games against the Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons, and Kerr believes there's a chance Lee could play in one of those contests, according to Rusty Simmons of The San Francisco Chronicle

Lee has been limited to seven minutes of action this season due to a strained left hamstring, which he aggravated during his season debut Nov. 5.

The Warriors can't get Lee back soon enough after the team lost center Andrew Bogut (orbital contusion) and shooting guard Leandro Barbosa (right knee sprain) in Sunday's game versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Draymond Green has started in place of Lee and done a strong job during his absence, averaging 12.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game entering play Sunday.
