Report: Knicks may waive Outlaw

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports / reuters

One preseason's worth of the Travis Outlaw experience was enough for the New York Knicks, as Ian Begley of ESPN is reporting that Outlaw might be waived in order to make room for forward Travis Wear.

Outlaw was acquired in a minor offseason move that also netted the Knicks forward Quincy Acy. Outlaw appeared in just two preseason games, logging 15 minutes played during that time.

Wear is a 6-foot-10 power small forward who has looked sharp in a limited preseason run with the Knicks. The 24-year-old played for UCLA at the collegiate level and went undrafted.

Outlaw, on the other hand, is a fringe bench player at best, having lost his best skill in his ability to shoot. Outlaw has failed to shoot over 36 percent from deep in each of his last four seasons.
