The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without two of their sharpshooters on opening day, as shooting guard Anthony Morrow sustained a sprained MCL during practice Thursday, joining Kevin Durant in the team's casualty ward.

As told by Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman, the injury will keep Morrow from playing in the Thunder's season opener next Wednesday Oct. 29, when the team travels to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers. Mayberry notes that the general prognosis for Morrow's injury calls for four-to-six weeks of recovery time, but Morrow will be reevaluated in a week.

Durant will miss roughly six-to-eight weeks after undergoing surgery on Oct. 16 to repair a Jones fracture in his right foot.

Morrow has played an average of 24.8 minutes per game during the preseason. The 6-foot-5 wing was the Thunder's most notable addition this summer.

As a member of the New Orleans Pelicans last season, Morrow averaged 8.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while connecting on 45.1 percent of his 3-point tries.

In Morrow's absence, shooting guard Jeremy Lamb or Andre Roberson will likely take his spot on the wing. Lamb provides more shooting, but Roberson is the stronger rebounder and defender.
