Doc Rivers on Blake Griffin assault investigation: 'I trust Blake'

Las Vegas police are currently investigating a weekend incident involving Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin. 

Griffin, who was with the Clippers in Las Vegas on Saturday for a preseason game, is accused of slapping a man at a nightclub in the Venetian, as reported by Broderick Turner of The Los Angeles Times.

A 39-year-old man listed only as Daniel filed a complaint with (the Las Vegas Metro Police Department) on Sunday listing Griffin as a suspect, a spokesman for the police department said Wednesday.

TMZ quoted Daniel as saying that Griffin "slapped me in the right side of the face."

Clippers coach Doc Rivers told Dan Woike of the Orange County Register that due to the ongoing nature of the investigation he couldn't comment, except to say, "I trust Blake." 

Turner added that the NBA would also be looking into the incident, to which no related charges have yet been filed.
