On Thursday night, New York Knicks owner James Dolan took the stage at Madison Square Garden, joined by his band JD & The Straight Shot, Knicks players Carmleo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist and more.

The goal? Set the world record for the most kazoos being played at once.

The outcome? Success! More than 7,400 fans buzzed their kazoos at the same time and, according to Stoudemire, breaking the world record:

According to Multichannel News, the previous record was 5,190, which the MSG crowd - who had initially turned out for a performance by the Eagles, and would follow JD & The Straight Shot on stage - beat handily.

The effort was done to aid ALS awareness and research, with Dolan donating $100,000 after breaking the record. Dolan released the following statement on the, uhh, accomplishment:

I’m honored to make this donation to ALS, and very proud that Eagles fans came together to make this moment happen. I want to thank Carmelo, Amar’e, Henrik and John for taking the time and having so much fun with us on stage, and to the fans at The Garden on Thursday for making this such a memorable event for an important cause.
