Report: Spurs open to sign-and-trades for Baynes

Troy Taormina / USA TODAY Sports

Center Aron Baynes stood under the spotlight of the FIBA World Cup with a strong performance in the middle for Australia. He averaged 16.8 points and seven rebounds in six games while playing more than 27 minutes, leading Australia to a 3-3 record and a one-point round of 16 exit.

The 6-foot-10 Baynes is currently a restricted free agent and property of the San Antonio Spurs. In a very Spurs turn of events, the team is now reportedly willing to open up discussions for sign-and-trade possibilities involving him, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports

It remains to be seen how much interested Baynes will generate, but don't be surprised if the Spurs are able to turn the 27-year-old into another piece while his value nears its peak.
