NBA admits missed foul on Chris Paul in Game 1 between Clippers, Warriors
Although a whopping 51 fouls were called in Game 1 between the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors, the NBA admitted Sunday they missed one on Clippers point guard Chris Paul in Saturday's match.
The incident occurred in the final minutes of the fourth quarter with the score at 107-105 in favor of the Warriors. Paul, who was handling the ball, was hounded by a pair of Warriors, Draymond Green and Steve Blake, and struck across the arms by Green, but no foul was called. As a result, Paul lost the ball out of bounds, which handed possession to the Warriors. Since they were in the penalty, the play should have resulted in a pair of free throws for the Clippers.
However, after learning of the league's admission on Sunday, Paul deflected the blame, admitting he "missed some free throws," in reference to a pair that he missed in the final minute of Saturday's game.
The incident in question can be seen in the video below:
The Warriors topped the Clippers by a score of 109-105, and hold a 1-0 lead in their playoff series.
