Heat will rest LeBron James and Chris Bosh again Wednesday

Steve Mitchell / USA Today Sports

As expected, the Miami Heat will rest LeBron James and Chris Bosh for Wednesday's season finale against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Dwyane Wade is expected to suit up to continue shaking the rust off after a lengthy absence due to a hamstring strain. The lineup, then, will be similar to Monday's outfit that lost 114-93 to Washington.

The move makes complete sense, as the Heat are guaranteed the two-seed in the Eastern Conference. The only tangible benefit to a win would be owning home court advantage in an unlikely NBA Finals match-up against Houston or Portland, which may end up being the case, anyway.

James is currently ranked eighth in the NBA in total minutes played with 2,902. Since entering the league in 2003-04, James has played more regular season minutes than any other player, more playoff minutes than any other player and participated in international play for Team USA. He could use a break.

Bosh, meanwhile, is just 43rd in minutes this season with 2,531 but is seventh in total regular season minutes since 2003-04. He could probably use a rest, too, in order to enter the playoffs fresh.
