1982 - MJ jump shot wins NCAA title for North Carolina
With 16 seconds remaining in the 1982 NCAA Championship Game, Tar Heels freshman Michael Jordan sinks the game-winning shot to give North Carolina a 63-62 victory over Georgetown.
Jordan finished with 16 points while future NBA rival Patrick Ewing led the Hoyas with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
"That's the shot," Jordan recalled in 2002. "That's the one that initiated everything. If I put anything ahead of that, honestly, I wouldn't be who I am."
1996 - Grizzlies extend losing streak to 20 games
With a 105-91 loss to the Utah Jazz, the expansion Vancouver Grizzlies extend their losing streak to 20 games.
The Grizzlies would go on to lose an NBA-record 23 straight in 1995-96, finishing the season 15-67. Their 23-game mark was tied by the Denver Nuggets during the 1997-98 season, and was eventually topped by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who went on a 26-game losing streak in 2010-11.
