Kobe Bryant names his Mount Rushmore picks

The Mount Rushmore debates aren't dying down among NBA players and the media.

After LeBron James made headlines for comments he made in an interview that airs on Monday when he named his top four players in NBA history, it was time for media members to go through the gauntlet of NBA players during All-Star weekend.

While some players took the politically correct route, there was no chance Kobe Bryant would avoid offering his top four, no matter how tough he regarded the decision.

"I would say Magic (Johnson), (Larry) Bird, Michael (Jordan), and (Bill) Russell," Bryant told reporters before Sunday's All-Star game in New Orleans.

No argument from this corner, especially when it's a four player limit. But the limitations seemed to cause the five-time NBA champion some mental angst.

"That's impossible to do four, though, man. Come on. That's crazy. That's tough. Absolutely tough."

James had the exact same players on his list, except Oscar Robinson replaced Bill Russell. Tough to argue between two Hall of Famers, with Robinson being the only player to ever average a triple-double in one season and Russell the proud owner of 11 NBA championship rings.

It's a debate that will always be strongly argued by every generation and in just about every sport.

Another debate, however, is when and how can we make this massive stone structure of NBA legends happen, for real?
