Whose idea was it to give the San Antonio Spurs' mascot the weirdest eyes of any NBA mascot?

The bulgy green eyes seen on the Spurs' Coyote are unsettling and suggest that he's been up all night enjoying an assortment of different drugs.

But regardless of all that, the mascot has some pretty impressive shooting skills, evidenced by this incredible shot during Sunday night's game at the AT&T Center.
