Sixers' Young denies report that he submitted a trade request

Thaddeus Young isn't ready to jump the Sixers ship just yet, no matter how frustrating a to-tank-or-not-to-tank situation can be. 

At Friday's shootaround, the forward denied a report that said he formally requested a trade out of Philadelphia.

“I just think how it’s all funny that it’s ‘sources’ said I asked to be traded,” said Young. “At the end of the day, I’m here 110-percent every single game to just play, stay focused and try to win basketball games.”

The report from SB Nation's Liberty Ballers cited sources who said the forward was excited about leaving the Sixers for a playoff opportunity.

"Playing for the Sixers is wasting a year of Thad's career," the source said, noting Young was anxious about a potential trade to the Rockets in an Omer Asik deal.
