Report: Ben Simmons' season 'very much in doubt' following results of CT scan

Ben Simmons may not be able to make his NBA debut this season after all.

The big man, who the Philadelphia 76ers selected No. 1 overall last June, has yet to play after suffering an acute Jones fracture in his right foot during training camp and undergoing surgery to repair it.

He underwent a CT scan on his foot Thursday, but it didn't go as planned and the Aussie could end up missing the entirety of 2016-17, according to John Barchard of Sports Radio 94 WIP.

Soon after the report emerged, Simmons posted this to Snapchat:

It seemed like the former LSU standout was making progress in his recovery, having gone through individualized workouts as recently as Wednesday. While there was (and continues to be) no timetable for his return, coach Brett Brown did say he expects the point forward to suit up at some point this campaign.

Test results from a week ago reportedly indicated Simmons' foot still hasn't fully healed.
