Report: Raptors in the market for wing help

The Toronto Raptors aren't done tinkering.

Having already added power forward Serge Ibaka last week, the Raptors are still in the market for another forward with size, or a wing who is a threat to shoot from the perimeter, sources told Josh Lewenberg of TSN.

The Raptors have been linked to the likes of P.J. Tucker and Danilo Gallinari in recent weeks. Both names fit what the Raptors lack.

Dealing away shooting guard Terrence Ross for Ibaka introduced imbalance to the Raptors' roster. The team boasts four point guards, seven bigs, one player in Bruno Caboclo that isn't ready at all for the NBA, and only three wing players. Out of those three, only the inconsistent DeMarre Carroll can defend threes since DeMar DeRozan and Norman Powell are undersized for the small forward spot.

Moving a big for a wing is the obvious move for the Raptors.

Kyle Lowry and Cory Joseph cover minutes at point. DeRozan and Powell cover the two. Their frontcourt rotation is set between Ibaka, Patrick Patterson, Jonas Valanciunas and Lucas Nogueira.

That just leaves the small forward spot that is still in need of upgrades. Raptors president Masai Ujiri has prospects, picks, and some expiring salary in Jared Sullinger's $5.6-million deal at his disposal.
