Jeremy Lin can't even help someone out without getting teased about his hair.

The Brooklyn Nets guard recently spoke at an event for Boxfish, an educational company based in China, where he dished out advice to a 13-year-old boy named Hanson about how to be the coolest guy at school.

Touching on the subject of appearance, Lin showed a montage displaying his diverse collection of past hairstyles. Asked for his opinion on the hooper's hair - which was hidden under a cap at the time - the student agreed it's cool, before adding, "but a bit weird, don't you think that?"

Boom roasted.

Hanson also brought back some unpleasant memories for the NBA player. As the fastest runner in his grade, people call him "Flash," which is the same nickname as someone else Lin knows.

"Do you know Dwyane Wade?" Lin asked. "He's the guy who beat me in the playoffs this year. His nickname is 'Flash.' I don't really like that nickname. I don't like it right now."

Still, Lin took the majority of the conversation in stride, doing his best to boost Hanson's confidence, and encouraged him to study, be himself, and smile.
