Coach K calls out Lowry for being too passive vs. Argentina

Team USA made light work of Argentina on Friday night in its first exhibition game, winning 111-74.

Despite the large margin of victory - 37 points, to be exact - head coach Mike Krzyzewski believes some of his players need to shoot more, including Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry.

Coach K told Steve Aschburner of NBA.com that there's "terminology to iron out" over his side's next four games before heading to Rio for the Olympics.

He caught certain players deferring too much Friday night. In one instance, he grabbed Lowry and asked him, "Would you take one shot at least? You talk about changing your role from a team that you play on (in the NBA) to this team."

Krzyzewski continued, saying: "(Lowry) just wanted to be a point guard for everybody. ... They just naturally are doing what the team needs them to do."

Lowry, who earned both All-Star and All-NBA third team honors this past season, hit one of his three field-goal attempts versus Argentina. He finished with two points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 15:29 off the bench.

In comparison, the 30-year-old tossed up 15.6 shots for 21.2 points per contest for the Raptors in 2015-16.
