It's gotten to the point with Sacramento Kings All-Star DeMarcus Cousins that every time he voices his opinion on a basketball-related matter, it will be interpreted as him being disgruntled with a franchise that continues to make questionable decisions.

Following his first practice with the U.S. men's national team Monday, Boogie commented on how Kings management fared on draft night. "I do my job," he said. "I don't really understand what's going on. I just control what I control. I let them do their job."

He apparently received some backlash for his remarks, something the 25-year-old big man can't seem to wrap his mind around.

"I'm trying to figure out what I said wrong. Of course, they've twisted it into something negative, in some type of way," Cousins told The Vertical's Michael Lee. "I'm clueless. It's to the point now, where I don't want to say anything about any situation. Then I'll be the bad guy about that as well. Anything I do. Anything I do, it's ... it's whatever, man."

Cousins sent out the following tweet during the draft, which implied that he wasn't pleased with Sacramento's picks:

He later pointed out that his message had nothing to do with the team or the draft, but was referring to a hot sculpting class he's joined as part of his training regimen.

"It's incredible," Cousins said of the class. "You feel strong. You feel good. You're detoxing everyday. It's just been great."

Some interpreted the explanation as a sarcastic excuse to cover up his true feelings about the draft, but Cousins continues to claim he's not lying.

"I really was," he said about attending the class during the draft. "I really was. I'll admit it was bad timing."

The Kings have spent the summer retooling a roster that won more than 30 games for the first time in the Cousins era last season. Georgios Papagiannis, Malachi Richardson, and Skal Labissiere were all acquired during the draft, while Arron Afflalo, Matt Barnes, Garrett Temple, and Anthony Tolliver were signed in free agency.
