Oddsmakers favor Thunder, Warriors in Durant sweepstakes
It's hard to think any team in the league wouldn't want a shot at signing four-time scoring champion Kevin Durant this summer. Unfortunately, only a handful of squads were fortunate enough to land meetings with the All-Star forward, with some favored more than others in terms of their chances at locking him down.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are currently leading the pack as the heavy betting favorites to re-sign the former league Most Valuable Player, with the 73-win Golden State Warriors - who overcame a 3-1 series deficit to bounce OKC from the Western Conference finals - coming in second.
Where will Kevin Durant sign this summer? (Odds)

---|---|
Oklahoma City Thunder | 1/6 |
Golden State Warriors | 4/1 |
Miami Heat | 12/1 |
New York Knicks | 14/1 |
San Antonio Spurs | 16/1 |

Los Angeles Clippers | 50/1 |
Los Angeles Lakers | 66/1 |

The mindset around NBA circles is that Durant will sign a two-year contract with a player option for the second season to remain with the Thunder, thus becoming a free agent alongside All-Star teammate Russell Westbrook in 2017.
Oklahoma City will reportedly meet with Durant on Thursday before flying to New York to meet with the Warriors.
Surprisingly enough, the New York Knicks have stronger odds than three teams (Spurs, Clippers, and Celtics) that will be sitting down with Durant, despite not being scheduled in to meet with him themselves.
