Timofey Mozgov was once traded for Carmelo Anthony, and now he could be joining the New York Knicks All-Star in The Big Apple.

Some members of the Knicks are high on adding the unrestricted free-agent center this summer, league sources tell Ian Begley of ESPN.

Mozgov has spent the last season-and-a-half with the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 7.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 20.3 minutes over 122 games (93 starts).

The Knicks are also interested in Joakim Noah, and Mozgov would be a younger alternative should New York fail to land the former Chicago Bulls center. Begley notes that the Knicks' interest in Mozgov stems from his ability to provide rim protection and rebounding, while not being a player who demands touches

New York is in need of a center after trading Robin Lopez to the Bulls in exchange for point guard Derrick Rose last week.

Mozgov made his NBA debut with the Knicks in 2010 before he was traded to the Denver Nuggets as part of a blockbuster deal that sent Anthony to New York.
