Tony Stewart lends plane to family of injured IndyCar driver Justin Wilson

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart sent his plane to the family of injured IndyCar driver Justin Wilson so they could be at his side as he lays in a coma following a serious crash Sunday.

Wilson is in critical condition after suffering a severe head injury in the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway. He was airlifted to a hospital in Allentown, Pa., on Sunday night.

Stewart lent his plane to Wilson's younger brother, Stefan, so he could make the trip from Indiana, according to The Indianapolis Star's Manny Randhawa. Wilson's wife, Julia, was transported to Pennsylvania from their home in Colorado by IndyCar.

Praise for Stewart poured in from around the racing world.
