4 drivers to watch at the Windows 10 400

Mike DiNovo / USA TODAY Sports

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series visits Pocono Raceway this weekend for the Windows 10 400 on Aug. 2. It's the second, and final, time that the series visits the Tricky Triangle.

Here are four drivers to keep an eye on:

Dale Earnhardt Jr.

It's been a few weeks since Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been in the win column, with his last win coming at the beginning of July in the Coke Zero 400. Earnhardt Jr. has two wins at the Tricky Triangle and if history is any indication, he could get his third this weekend in his No. 88 Microsoft Chevrolet.

Pocono stats:

  • Two wins, nine top-fives, 13 top-10s and one pole
  • Average finish of 15.9, 11th best
  • Average green flag speed of 162.237 mph, eighth-fastest
  • 2,286 laps in the top-15, eighth-most

Jeff Gordon

Jeff Gordon only has six more races to collect his first win of the season before the Chase for the Sprint Cup begins. The 43-year-old can only hope that he can drive his No. 24 AARP Member Advantages Chevrolet to Victory Lane this weekend at the Tricky Triangle.

Pocono stats:

  • Six wins, 18 top-fives, 31 top-10s and two poles
  • Average finish of 9.650, second-best
  • Average green flag speed of 162.625 mph, fifth-fastest
  • Average running position of 9.916, series-best

Denny Hamlin

Denny Hamlin has a chance to continue the Joe Gibbs Racing streak by walking away with a victory this weekend. He has won four times at the Tricky Triangle and hopes to make it a fifth in his No. 11 FedEx Freight Toyota.

Pocono stats:

  • Four wins, eight top-fives, 13 top-10s and three poles
  • Average finish of 11.889, seventh-best
  • Average green flag speed of 162.806 mph, series-best
  • 2543 laps in the top-15, series-most

Joey Logano

In Joey Logano's last 10 starts, he has collected seven top-fives, including a runner-up effort last weekend at the Jeff Kyle 400. Logano is due for a trip to Victory Lane, in his No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford, with his only win of 2015 coming at the season-opening Daytona 500.

Pocono stats:

  • One win, three top-fives, five top-10s and two poles
  • Average finish of 16.583, 12th-best
  • Average green flag speed of 162.097 mph, 12th-fastest
  • 61 fastest laps run, second-best

Notable Mentions

Martin Truex Jr.

If Martin Truex Jr. can win at Pocono for the second time this season, he will become the eighth driver to win both races at the Tricky Triangle in the same season. His win at Pocono back in June was the first, and only, win of his career at the 2.5-mile track.

Kyle Busch

Although Kyle Busch has yet to win in his career at Pocono, he could do it this weekend. Busch is riding a hot streak – four wins in his last five races – including winning three races in a row. In 21 starts at the Tricky Triangle, he has collected four top-fives, and eight top-10s.
