Erik Jones will be waiting for the call to hop in the No. 18 Toyota should Kyle Busch not be able to complete the 600 miles in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Busch will be making his first NASCAR Sprint Cup points start on Sunday in the longest race of the season after he suffered a broken leg and foot in a crash at the NASCAR Xfinity Series open at Daytona.
Last weekend, the 30-year-old got back behind the wheel for the NASCAR All-Star Race and finished 6th.
Jones made one start for the injured Busch this season at Kansas International Speedway and finished 40th.
