Report: Korean 3B Jae-gyun Hwang to be posted

Korean infielder Jae-gyun Hwang may soon take advantage of a weak third-base market to acquire a job in Major League Baseball.

The 28-year-old is expected to be posted by the Lotte Giants on Thursday, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Passan writes that teams have until next week to place a blind bid.

If a bid is received, Hwang could join fellow Korean slugger Byung-ho Park in making the transition from the Korean Baseball Organization to MLB next season. Park received a bid of roughly $12.85 million from the Minnesota Twins in early November.

Hwang hit .290/.350/.521 with 26 home runs and 97 RBIs for the Giants in 2015 and owns a career .280/.343/.417 hitting line across nine seasons with the KBO.
