Prado's five knocks were a career high and gave the Marlins a fourth consecutive victory.

"I'm telling you. There's a lot of positive stuff going on right now," Prado said postgame. "Not because we're winning just because guys showing pride, guys just showing up and playing the game the right way. That's the way I was taught and that's the way if somebody asks me I'm going to tell them. I'm the guy that likes to tell the truth. I'm not fake. That's what we need around here."

New York battled back from a 3-0 deficit powered by Yoenis Cespedes' 100th career homer, but stranded 13 runners in the defeat.

The Mets' lead in the National League East was trimmed to five games after the Washington Nationals enjoyed a walk-off of their own Friday night.
