Phillies place Elvis Araujo on DL due to groin strain

The Philadelphia Phillies have placed left-hander Elvis Araujo on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left groin.

In a corresponding move, the team recalled right-hander Nefi Ogando from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Araujo suffered the injury while throwing to his second batter in the 11th inning of Thursday's game against the New York Mets. The Phillies went on to lose 9-5.

The 24-year-old has impressed out of the bullpen in his rookie campaign, sporting a 3.38 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 34 2/3 innings of work.
