Jarred Cosart, who's been limited to nine starts due to vertigo symptoms, has been diagnosed with an inner-ear disorder, which is affecting his balance and gravity.

The Miami Marlins righty is now on medication to combat the nerve issue, and will consult a specialist in Chicago before establishing a firm timeline for a return. He may be able to rejoin the club by the end of the month or by early September.

"We need him to come back healthy and ready," manager Dan Jennings said. "Glad they were able to identify the problem."

Cosart is 1-4 with a 5.36 ERA.
