Ramirez leaves Sunday's Red Sox loss with apparent injury

With a roster depleted by injuries to Dustin Pedroia, Mookie Betts, Pablo Sandoval, Rick Porcello, and Clay Buchholz, the Boston Red Sox need every player they can get.

Unfortunately, their bad luck continued Sunday as outfielder Hanley Ramirez exited the game against the Tampa Bay Rays with an apparent injury.

Ramirez left the contest for a pinch runner in the eighth inning after getting aboard with a single. He fouled a ball off of his knee earlier in his at-bat.

The 31-year-old Ramirez is second on the team with 19 home runs and sits third on the squad with 50 RBIs. The absence of his power would be a serious loss for the Red Sox, who sit last in the American League East with a 47-59 record. Boston lost Sunday's game 4-3.
