Mets to activate Travis d'Arnaud from DL on Friday

New York Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud will be activated from the disabled list Friday, according to manager Terry Collins.

D'Arnaud, who's been out since June 13 with a sprained left elbow, is expected to be eased into the lineup after missing more than a month with his second significant injury of the season. He was also sidelined for nearly two months with a broken pinkie earlier in the year.

Collins said d'Arnaud will catch no more than two or three consecutive games. Backup catcher Kevin Plawecki will remain with the club for the time being.

D'Arnaud has appeared in 19 games this season, hitting .296/.338/.535 with four home runs over 77 plate appearances.
