Fernandez continues dominance at home in Marlins' win over Nationals

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports

Jose Fernandez loves his home turf.

The Miami Marlins hurler continued his dominance at Marlins Park on Tuesday, tossing six innings of one-run ball in a win against the National League East-leading Washington Nationals.

He now has 15 consecutive wins at home - the most by a starter whose career began in the modern era, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

2015 Home Starts IP H K WHIP
July 2 vs. SF 6 7 6 1.17
July 9 vs. CIN 7 6 9 1.00
July 28 vs. WSH 6 4 5 1.03

The former first-round pick has been on a tear since returning to the Marlins' rotation after spending 13 months recovering from Tommy John surgery on his elbow. He hasn't lost a decision this season and is also trying to bring back the Karate Kid look.
