The Milwaukee Brewers are reportedly moving forward with their efforts to deal Carlos Gomez after Wednesday's failed trade with the New York Mets.

The club is actively shopping Gomez ahead of Friday's non-waiver trade deadline, according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports, despite reported concern over Gomez's hip.

It was widely reported late Wednesday that the proposed deal to send the Brewers' star outfielder to New York for pitcher Zack Wheeler and infielder Wilmer Flores was nixed due to the Mets' trepidation over Gomez's medical history.

Gomez's agent, Scott Boras, denied his client has any hip-related issues.

"Carlos Gomez has never seen a hip doctor and has never had a hip issue in his playing career," Boras said. "Anyone who suggests that is inaccurate and baldly misrepresenting the truth of the player’s condition."

Gomez, a two-time All-Star, was bothered by hip soreness in early June but only missed one game as a result. The speedy center fielder is under contract for $9 million next season before he's eligible for free agency.
