Twins-Red Sox game postponed due to rain

There won't be baseball at Fenway Park on Monday night.

Inclement weather in the northeastern United States forced the Boston Red Sox to postpone Monday's series opener against the Minnesota Twins, which will now be played Wednesday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. as part of a split doubleheader.

Clay Buchholz, who owns a 2.48 ERA over his last four outings, was scheduled to start for the Red Sox, but will instead be skipped in favor of Eduardo Rodriguez (Game 1) and Rick Porcello (Game 2), according to Rob Bradford of WEEI.

The Twins were expected to counter with veteran right-hander Mike Pelfrey, who allowed just two earned runs over his previous two starts (1.38 ERA), though the club has yet to confirm the scheduled starters for Wednesday's doubleheader.
