Ethier ends Dodgers' 35-inning scoreless drought

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers have scored their first run of the week.

Andre Ethier delivered an RBI double in the fifth inning of Friday's contest with the San Diego Padres to plate Justin Turner and give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead, ending a 35-inning scoreless drought.

The Dodgers hadn't scored since a fourth-inning RBI single off the bat of Yasmani Grandal against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. They had been shut out in three consecutive games by the San Francisco Giants.

The 35-inning drought ties the mark set by the 1962 L.A. team, but fell short of the franchise record.
