VIDEO: Freeman's error sends Phillies to walkoff victory

Two of the least talented teams in baseball squared off Friday night at Citizens Bank Park, so it's only fitting that the game was decided in the most inglorious fashion imaginable.

Summoned in the bottom of the ninth inning of a game still scoreless, Atlanta Braves reliever Jim Johnson was tasked with sending his club's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies into extra innings. The 31-year-old reliever immediately faltered, surrendering a leadoff single to Freddy Galvis, who quickly advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from pinch-hitter Cesar Hernandez.

Things quickly deteriorated for the Braves, as a passed ball from veteran catcher A.J. Pierzynski allowed Galvis to advance to third before Freddie Freeman sent the modest contingent of Phillies fans home happy.

"I had to act like a shortstop and obviously, I’m not one of those," Freeman told MLB.com's Mark Bowman. "So, I just missed the play. It's on me."

Amid a uniformly dreary offensive display, Phillies right-hander Aaron Harang shined, notching six strikeouts while allowing just three baserunners over eight sublime innings to lower his ERA to 1.37 through four starts.
