Moss powers Indians' rout of Tigers with 7-RBI outburst

There was a reason the Cleveland Indians traded for Brandon Moss in the offseason.

The Indians right fielder smashed two home runs and collected a career-high seven RBIs on Friday night to lead Cleveland's 13-1 rout of the Detroit Tigers.

Cleveland amassed a season-high 15 hits in the victory, including three off the bat of Moss. The Indians were averaging a paltry 3.14 runs per game (27th in majors) coming into the game, and were desperate for an offensive outburst.

Moss now owns a .465 average with seven homers and 22 RBIs in 11 career games at Comerica Park.

The Indians tagged Tigers starter Shane Greene for eight earned runs on nine hits to chase him in the fifth inning.

Greene, who was looking to become the first Tigers pitcher since Frank Tanana in 1998 to win his four starts of a season, entered the contest with an incredible 0.39 ERA and saw it balloon to 3.00 with the lackluster outing.
