The list of potential suitors for Cuban infielder Hector Olivera continues to grow, as the Atlanta Braves reportedly held a private workout for the 29-year-old Sunday in the Dominican Republic, according to Ben Badler of Baseball America.

The Braves dispatched manager Fredi Gonzalez and assistant GM John Coppolella (among others) to watch Olivera, who defected in September and has reportedly drawn interest from the Oakland AthleticsSan Diego Padres and New York Yankees. Olivera could be viewed as a long-term solution at second base, though the Braves have top prospect Jose Peraza primed to compete for playing time at the position as soon as 2015.

Despite his dubious medical history - he has a blood disorder that sidelined him for the entire 2012-13 campaign - Olivera hit .316/.412/.474 over his final season in Cuba's Serie Nacional. Though, he received the majority of his playing time as designated hitter.
