Dodgers' Grandal doesn't expect any limitations with knee this season

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal isn't expecting to have the residual effects from a former knee surgery limit him in 2015 as it did last season.

Grandal underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL in July of 2013 and claimed he was never fully healthy last season despite only missing a pair of games with knee soreness. As a result, his production suffered, and the 26-year-old finished the season hitting .225/.327/.401 with 15 home runs and 115 strikeouts in 128 games.

"You take away a knee injury and I probably would have posted right around a .280, .290 batting average, played every single game and hit 15-plus home runs," Grandal told Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times

The Dodgers acquired Grandal in a package that sent Matt Kemp to the San Diego Padres earlier this winter and expect him to serve as their everyday catcher.

Grandal, who spent part of his offseason playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic, believes he's entering the season fully healthy.

"It just feels like I'm back at it again, like it was before," he said.
