Report: Astros among teams looking at Kevin Correia

After failing to reach a deal with right-hander Ryan Vogelsong last week, the Houston Astros are reportedly looking at another veteran free agent who could bolster the back of their rotation in 2015.

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Astros are among the teams eyeing free agent Kevin Correia, the 34-year-old who crafted a 5.44 ERA (71 ERA+) over 154 innings in 2014. Though it's not clear which other teams are looking at Correia, an earlier report identified the Colorado Rockies as one of the teams with interest.

Though Correia earned an All-Star berth with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2011, the 12-year veteran remains among the least intimidating starters in baseball. His 11.5-percent strikeout rate ranked dead last among pitchers with at least 150 innings pitched last season, and only one qualified starter has managed a lower swinging-strike rate since 2012 than Correia.
