Korean standout Jung-Ho Kang is one step closer to playing in the majors.

The Nexen Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization will accept a $5-million bid from a mystery team for the shortstop, reports Jeeho Yoo of Yonhap News.

It's currently unclear which big-league team submitted the winning bid, but the mystery club will have 30 days to negotiate a deal once the bid is formally accepted.

The 27-year-old slashed .356/.459/.739 while blasting 40 homers and driving in 117 runs, according to Baseball Reference.

The New York Mets are one known team looking for an upgrade at the shortstop position.
