Report: Red Sox agree to terms with Craig Breslow on 1-year deal

Brad Penner / USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Red Sox and reliever Craig Breslow have agreed to terms on a one-year, $2-million contract, reports WEEI's Rob Bradford.

The Red Sox declined Breslow's $4-million club option earlier this offseason, and received a $2-million discount by waiting to sign him as a free agent.

The 34-year-old will give manager John Farrell a familiar left-handed option out of the bullpen, but the team hopes his 5.96 ERA from a year ago drastically improves.

Breslow was also considering the Chicago Cubs as a possible destination.
