Diamondbacks trade right-hander Mike Bolsinger to Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their flurry of offseason moves Saturday, acquiring right-handed pitcher Mike Bolsinger from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for cash considerations.
Los Angeles designated left-hander Jarret Martin for assignment in a corresponding move.
Bolsinger, 26, figured to be in tough for a rotation spot after the Diamondbacks traded for Jeremy Hellickson earlier this month.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, add pitching depth to a staff snake-bitten by injuries last year and in need of a replacement for the retired Josh Beckett.
Bolsinger started nine games for Arizona in 2014, pitching to a 5.50 ERA in 10 outings with 48 strikeouts in 52 1/3 innings. The rookie right-hander began last season in Triple-A, working a 3.93 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 16 starts.
