Rick Renteria's brief stint as manager of the Chicago Cubs came to an end Friday. On Monday afternoon, the club will introduce his replacement.
Joe Maddon, who unexpectedly exercised his opt-out clause with the Tampa Bay Rays last week, will officially take over as the 54th manager in Cubs history when he's introduced at a press conference Monday in Chicago.
Maddon led the Rays to four postseason berths during his nine-year tenure with the club, winning the American League's Manager of the Year award in both 2008 and 2011.
