Trout, Stanton named Hank Aaron Award winners

Kevin Jairaj / USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout and Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton can add another piece of hardware to their respective trophy cases.

It's the first time both players have won the award.

Trout put on a spectacular offensive display of power in 2014, hitting .287 with 36 home runs and an AL-best 111 RBIs.

Stanton put up even more incredible numbers, batting .288 with a NL-leading 37 home runs and 105 RBIs.

Miguel Cabrera (AL) and Paul Goldschmidt (NL) won the award last season.
