Mets' Wright happy with results while rehabbing shoulder

Everything is going according to plan for David Wright, as the New York Mets third baseman rehabs from a season-ending shoulder injury.

"No setbacks, we're moving forward," Wright told NJ Advance Media. "That's all you can ask."

Wright was shut down on Sept. 9 after an MRI revealed inflammation in his left shoulder was caused by ligament damage. The 31-year-old has been progressing through a six week rehab program since that is set to conclude around the end of the month.

"It's doing good," Wright said. "I'm hopefully finishing up some rehab stuff. I'm going to get checked out by the doctors in the next couple of weeks. And we'll see how that goes and that will kind of determine what's next as far as the plan moving towards for next year. I'm excited."

"I've been doing this rehab stuff pretty religiously for these last six weeks or however long it's been and feeling better. Hopefully I get some good news when I go to the doctors."

The seven-time All-Star endured one of the worst seasons of his 11-year career in 2014. In 134 games, Wright hit .269/.324/.374 with eight home runs and 63 RBIs.
