Bumgarner's postseason scoreless innings road streak snapped

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Madison Bumgarner was finally touched up on the road.

The San Francisco Giants' left-hander had a streak of 32 2/3 consecutive scoreless postseason innings on the road snapped when Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez went deep off him in the seventh inning.

"You know what, I would tell you I wasn't thinking about it but there's no way around it," Bumgarner said. "You know there's so much talk about it and a World Series game is not one you tend to forget."

No sweat, Bumgarner still holds the Major League Baseball record

"I'm not worried about it," Bumgarner said. "I'm not out here trying to be on some kind of streak or whatever, I'm just trying to get guys out."

The homer was also the first run Bumgarner has allowed in three career World Series starts. He had thrown 21 1/3 scoreless innings in the World Series before allowing a run, which is the second longest streak in MLB history from the start of a career behind Christy Mathewson's 28 innings
