Cardinals' Wacha to follow normal offseason regimen after MRI comes back clean

St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Michael Wacha is expected to follow a normal offseason regimen after an MRI on his troublesome right shoulder came back clean, reports MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch.

"Even the doctors were a little surprised on how that looked," general manager John Mozeliak said of Wacha's MRI results.

A stress reaction in Wacha's right shoulder limited the 23-year-old to just 19 starts during the regular season, as he spent 78 days on the disabled list. Wacha was shaky upon his return in September and made just one appearance during the postseason, serving up a walkoff home run to Travis Ishikawa in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series that ousted the Cardinals from the playoffs.
