Report: Athletics interested in Angels assistant hitting coach Dave Hansen

The Boston Red Sox have reportedly lured away Oakland Athletics hitting coach Chili Davis, creating a vacancy on the Athletics' coaching staff.

According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, the A's are interested in Los Angeles Angels assistant hitting coach Dave Hansen to assume Davis' former role. That is, as long as Hansen's not promoted to the same job with the Angels.

Hansen has previously served as a hitting coach for the Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Dodgers and in the Arizona Diamondbacks minor league system.
