The Boston Red Sox's search for a new hitting coach appears to be over.

The team has agreed to terms with Chili Davis, reports WEEI's Rob Bradford.

Davis has been the hitting coach for the Oakland Athletics for the past three seasons, and previously assumed the same position with Boston's Triple-A affiliate Pawtucket in 2011.

The New York Yankees were also vying for Davis' services.
