The American League batting champ is among 30 finalists for the 2014 Hank Aaron Award, Major League Baseball announced Monday. Named after baseball's No. 2 home run hitter of all-time, the award is given to the top offensive players in each league every year.
Fans will help supplement the voting panel, which includes Aaron and fellow Hall of Famers Roberto Alomar, Johnny Bench, Paul Molitor, Eddie Murray, Frank Thomas and Robin Yount. Voting runs through Oct. 5 and the winners will be revealed during the World Series.
