Though he wouldn't divulge details about the severity of Jose Iglesias' shin injury, Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski confirmed Sunday that the 24-year-old shortstop will begin the season on the disabled list.

Iglesias, who has battled shin splints throughout his career, is reportedly beset with stress fractures in both tibias "that are expected to keep him out at least until the All-Star break," according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick. Iglesias will see foot and ankle specialist Dr. Thomas Clanton on Tuesday, the team announced.
